Homemade Pineapple and Mango Smoothie

Delicious and Healthy Smoothie

When spring rolls around, I get ready for some warmth, blossoming flowers, and iced drinks. One of my favorite drinks to make, besides iced coffee, is fruit smoothies. Generally, smoothies are made purely of whole fruits and vegetables. However, a little almond milk or nonfat dairy mix can be a healthy and nutritious addition.

I decided to make a mango and pineapple smoothie because they are two of my favorite fruits. However, to make it extra special and robust, I decided to add pineapple flavor Greek yogurt.

This smoothie is packed with Vitamin C and fiber, and you'll be amazed at how easy it is to make. With just a handful of ingredients, a couple of minutes, and a blender, you’ve got yourself a delicious and healthy drink to enjoy at home or on the go.

Quick Tip: Freeze the Fruit Ahead of Time

You can store cut-up pineapple and mango in the freezer, and then whenever you're ready for a smoothie, just grab the frozen fruit and blitz it up in the blender. Bonus tip: If you use frozen mango and pineapple, you don't have to add any ice cubes!

Ingredients

  • 1 medium pineapple, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 2 medium mangoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup whole milk (or your preferred type of milk)
  • 150 grams pineapple flavor Greek yogurt
  • Ice cubes (unless you are using frozen fruit)

Note: If your smoothie is a little bit too sour, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of coconut sugar or honey.

Directions

  1. Peel and cut the pineapple into chunks.
  2. Peel and slice the mangoes.
  3. Combine the pineapple and mango in a blender.
  4. Add the whole milk, yogurt, and ice cubes.
  5. Blend the mixture by using a smoothie mode. Stop once the mixture is smooth and well-combined.
  6. Pour the smoothie into a tall glass. Don't forget the straw!
  7. Save the remaining smoothie in a glass jar or tumbler and keep refrigerated.
  8. Enjoy whenever you like!

This is a great idea. I especially appreciated the freezing tip. Last time I took homemade smoothy to a friends house she added ice cubs and blitzed it in a blender.
